Meet Our Doctors:
- Clint Berdeen, D.V.M. (Owner and Chief of Staff) (and Bruce)
Dr. Berdeen is originally from Roanoke, VA and graduated from Virginia- Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He became practice owner in October 2006 and it has been his greatest pleasure to provide patients with the utmost care and to serve the members of the Randleman community and surrounding areas. When he is not at work Dr. Berdeen enjoys spending his time with Nancy, his wife and their 3 children as well as their pets (4 dogs, 6 cats and 2 horses). His hobbies include photography, salt water aquariums and hiking.
- Dr. Anne Highley, DVM (and Charlie)
Dr. Highley joined Pointe South Animal Hospital in September of 2013. She is a 2012 graduate of the North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She loves working as a Veterinarian because of the variety in her day as she meets her patients and their owners. Every day and every patient is different and exciting! From the Charlotte area originally, Dr. Highley enjoys time at home with her two cats and (cute) dog Charlie. She enjoys reading, hiking and playing with Charlie at the dog park.
- Dr. Greg Troy, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM
Dr. Troy started part-time work at Pointe South Animal Hospital in August 2015. He was previously at Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine for the last 28 years. Dr. Troy has served in a variety of positions in his professional career to include private practice experiences in Kentucky and Louisiana and academic positions at Texas A & M and Virginia Tech. Dr. Troy is a graduate of Auburn University and has an advance degree from Texas A & M and is board certified in small animal internal medicine. Dr. Troy enjoys working with clientele that he will see on a routine basid. Dr. Troy has been married for 40 years to Sharon from Alabama. They are currently building their retirement home on property that has been in his family for 100 years. When he is not here at PSAH he enjoys working on his farm and being outdoors.
- Dr. Marie Ballengee, DVM
Dr. Ballengee has called North Carolina home since 1994- though originally from central New York. She is a 2002 graduate of North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, she is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) from the University of Tennessee and is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture (cVMA) from Colorado State University. When not at work Dr. Ballengee enjoys spending time outside, hiking, doing yard work and playing with her two rescued Dobermans and her cat! Dr. Ballengee is at Pointe South Animal Hospital on Mondays!
Meet our Staff:
Nancy Berdeen, RVT: Hospital Administrator
Nancy has been working as a Registered Veterinary Technician for over 25 years. She has enjoyed working at Pointe South Animal Hospital since October 2006 alongside her husband, Dr. Clint Berdeen. While at PSAH you can usually find Nancy doing office work, but her love is working with the animals and the people that come with them! She loves talking to clients and making our patients feel safer and more secure while they are visiting us for any reason. When not at PSAH Nancy enjoys time with Dr. Berdeen and their 3 children as well as their many pets!
Myra: Office Manager
Myra has enjoyed working at Pointe South Animal Hospital for the past 17 years! After raising twin sons Myra enjoys quiet time at home with her husband Jerry and their cats Glitter and Ziggy. She can often be found sewing, cross stitching or cooking. Myra says her favorite part of her job is meeting all the clients & patients as they come in our doors!
Mendy: Veterinary Assistant/Inventory Manager
Mendy has been a part of our family since 1997. She loves the challenging cases that come into our hospital and especially loves the beagle puppies that come in. Mendy is actively involved in her church, has started volunteer work with horses and children, and enjoys time with family, friends, and her 4 legged babies. “Regardless if you’ve had a good day or an awful day, happy puppy kisses always help soothe the soul”
Cesar: Veterinary Assistant
Cesar has been working here at Pointe South Animal Hospital since 2005! Cesar likes spending time with family (his wife Jakie and two beautiful daughters) and their many pets which include 6 dogs! Cesar loves to read the Bible, preach at his church and watch the nature channel. His most memorable moment here at work was once when he did "mouth-to-mouth" on a newborn puppy who was born by c-section and it started breathing on it's own! He also loves to help our clients with behavioral problems with their pets.
Martha has been with Pointe South Animal Hospital since 2012. You might see her smile out and about in town at flea markets or antique shops as these are some of her favorite things to do in her free time! Martha lives in Randleman with her husband Marty and their pets 6 dogs, 2 cats and 3 horses! Martha says the best part of her job is making clients happy!
Sonya: Veterinary Assistant
If you have been a client at Pointe South Animal Hospital for long you have seen Sonya for sure! She has been here since 2004! Sonya lives in High Point with her husband, Hugh and their son. When she is not at work helping animals she loves time at home with her family and their pets (5 dogs & 2 cats) and can be found reading, gardening or playing with her son! Sonya says she loves staying busy at work and helping to be sure things run smoothly for our doctors as they do surgery and tend to emergencies.
Krista: Kennel Manager
Krista has been here at Pointe South Animal Hospital since 2011. She is always moving so if you see a blur go by that was her! We are so proud to have her here taking loving care of your pets while they are visiting. When not at work Krista enjoys camping and hiking with her dogs Sampson, Levon, Hope and Brisa. Krista also has a pet turtle named Bob! She loves caring for all of the animals that come into Pointe South, but finds it most rewarding to help out with C-Section puppies as well as assist the doctors in dealing with emergencies.
Emily began working with us in October 2013 after 5 years in the Veterinary field. She lives with her husband, Duke and their many animals (one dog, two cats and two horses). She loves horseback riding, antique shopping and traveling all over North Carolina! While at work Emily says she loves interacting with clients when they bring their pets in and that of course she feels lucky to get to meet all those doggies and kitties too!
Misty, Groomer (and her dog Kissy)
You will find Misty at PSAH on Fridays ever since she started grooming here in 2011. Misty says she looks forward to Fridays because she enjoys the fun atmosphere! Misty has been grooming for for over 20 years. When she is not here or at her other Grooming job she enjoys time with her family and many pets!
Cara has many years of experience grooming in a veterinary hospital setting. Cara's favorite part of working at PSAH is meeting our "pet clients" and their people!Cara is "owned" by 3 cats, 1 dog, 4 horses, a donkey, goats, sheep, chickens, and 2 ducks. When she is not grooming pets she loves spending time with her son and daughter, hiking, camping, kayaking and rafting.
Cheree, Veterinary Assistant (and one of her dogs Cash)
Cheree has been working at PSAH for 1 year! When not at work Cheree likes to Ride horses, fish, hike and have bonfires. She has two dogs named Buddy and Cash. She loves to be busy when at work and enjoys meeting all of our patients and their owners!
Jordan, Veterinary Assistant (and her dog Zeus)
Jordan has been working at PSAH for just over a year! She loves to educate clients on how to take care of their pets and she LOVES to comfort nervous pets during their visit here at PSAH! When she is not at work she enjoys going to concerts, cuddling with her dog Zeus, and spending time with her family and boyfriend. She owns chickens, ducks, 4 cats, a turtle, a rabbit and a Great Dane named Tinker Bell!
